Gluten free bread on a shoestring, in 20mins!
What’s the only thing better than a tasty sanga?! One made with Gluten Free bread you just baked all by yourself in under 20mins!
One of the things I find hardest on the road, is being able to store enough food so we don’t need to regularly go food shopping. Given that free and low cost camps are often not in suburbia, we often have to travel quite some way to find food which eats into our petrol funds. The 2 main things we struggle with are storage of fresh fruit and veg (which we primarily eat) and bread! Because Jaiden also eats a preservative free diet as well as Gluten Free, it means that “off the shelf” bread options are practically unpalatable after being opened a few days and if it’s been frozen, bleh, even I won’t eat it… Not to mention it’s very expensive at $6-$8 a loaf, so our weekly bread spend is often well over $20..
So when a mate invited us over for lunch and produced this lovely gluten free flat bread, I just had to have the recipie! Needing only a handful of ingredients and 12mins of cook-time we were pretty damn impressed with the outcome indeed. Not only do Jaiden and I prefer the texture of it to gluten free bread, it means we can make our own bread in under 20 minutes anywhere we are!
Here’s to no more stale bread! Horaar!
