I met Nugget Garage
About a month ago now, we went to a round of the QDRC (Queensland Drag Racing Championship) at Willowbank Raceway and met Scott Hoffman AKA Nugget Garage.
Now for those who have not heard of it, it is a YouTube channel run by Scott Hoffman or the Hoff for short. On their channel they have done cool projects like a turbo Honda powered Go Kart (that’s way too fast), a Turbo powered V8 in a truck, and even a Turbo V12 in a car called “Grandpa”.
The car that Hoff was driving was his 3RZ powered 1967 KE10 Toyota Corolla that makes over a 1000 Horsepower. Scott was out chasing his first 7 second ¼ mile pass but despite fixing an alternator problem he could only managed two 8.0 passes. This weekend Scott is heading out again to try and get his first 7 second pass and we will be there hopefully helping with recording and working on the car which will be exciting because I love working on cars.
Scott’s business is to tune cars on a dyno which is something I want to learn because I am going to buy a race car when I am older. Dyno tuning uses a computer to tune a car to find problems, and also make more power. Scott is the first ever you Tuber I have ever met which for me is pretty cool, he was very nice and chatty in person.
